The SOS Air Brake Safety Clip
The Smith on Safety air brake safety clip is a simple device designed to eliminate the possibility of disaster. The Safety Clip, when properly used, makes it impossible to push the airbrake/emergency brake knob down. Locked in the "up" or engaged position with the Safety Clip in place, movement of the vehicle cannot occur. The Clip and pedestal are made of a semi rigid polypropylene resin material which is sun/heat resistant. The Clip and pedestal are red in color symbolizing STOP, and a small price to pay for everyone's safety.

Since 9-11-01, recreational vehicle/motorhome sales have skyrocketed with people apprehensive to fly. Traveling in an RV has always been popular, but these days it is rare to travel the open roads without frequently passing a motorhome. These homes on wheels vary in size, color, length and price, but one thing stays true with most having an air brake emergency parking knob.

An average motorhome weighs approximately 30,000 lbs. Imagine at a campground and lighting the barbeque for dinner while your children frolic through the area on their bikes and skateboards. You have taught them responsibility regarding safety, i.e., don't go off with strangers, stay away from unfamiliar dogs, wear bug spray, etc. But, did you ever think to tell them to stop and look before they walk in front of every parked RV? Of course not, we assume that the rigs are parked and are going to stay parked.

The air brake/emergency brake engagement knob is conveniently located on the dash or side dash panel of most RVs allowing the driver to easily park and "pull" for a stable stationary position. As easy as the knob is engaged it is just as effortless to disengage at an unsuitable time by an unsupervised child or pet causing a potential catastrophic accident. Motorhomes/RVs are regularly rolling into trees, down hills or into parked vehicles when the air brake is erroneously disengaged.

TESTIMONIAL

Accidental Release...

"Good morning Dorene. Every time we stop and get out of the Bus they want to see where we went. They watch out the windows until we return. After Piper had released the air brake we have put them in their crates when we leave. Once your new product arrives we can let them free again. Less stress on them when we travel , which is very important when you have show dogs. Gordy
